Repo-based projects (classic)

  • If the repo is owned by an individual user, known as the owner, you need to authenticate with the repo owner.

  • If the repo is owned by an organisation, you need to authenticate with a user that is an admin of the repo.

All-new projects and organization-based projects (classic)

  • You must be an owner within the organization. GitHub allows you to have multiple owners of a single organization.

In addition to the above, the all-new projects also require the "project" permission.

Please note that you may need to explicitly grant Avion access to the organization, as shown above. If you forget this or want to check that Avion has the correct privileges, you can navigate to https://github.com/settings/applications and select Avion. On this screen you can verify this or grant privileges if you missed it the first time around:
