Tags

Overview

Tags can be added to journeys, steps and stories. they can be used in a multitude of ways, such as tracking different teams that are working on cards, value scoring, emotional design, component architecture and much more. Tags can also be broken into categories for more clarity:

Create tags

You can create a tag directly in a card by clicking Add and typing a new tag name:

You can also use this same technique to add existing tags to cards and uncheck them to remove them from the card too.

Tag categories

You can manage your tags and tag categories from the Tags item in the side bar of the story map. You can also use the keyboard shortcut T. From here, you can add new tags, move tags between categories and create new tag categories.

Best practice

Tags can be used in many different ways. Here are some example use-cases:

  • Teams — front-end, back-end, dev-ops, UI/UX

  • Emotional design — functional, reliable, usable, pleasurable

  • Priorities — high, medium, low

  • KPIs/objectives reminders — revenue, churn, stickiness, traffic

  • Development pillars — component library, API, infra, notifs, events
